Clontarf Are Leinster Club Sevens Champions

It was ‘Friday Night Lights’ with a difference as senior clubs from Leinster took to the field at De La Salle Palmerston to compete in the 2012 IRFU Club Sevens last weekend.

Clontarf were crowned champions of this year’s Leinster leg of the IRFU Club Sevens after defeating Old Wesley 26-14 in the Cup final.

Both finalists now progress to the All-Ireland Club Sevens Championship which takes place at Dubarry Park in Athlone on Saturday, May 12.

Other trophies won were the Plate which went to last year’s champions, Old Belvedere, and the Bowl which was won by St. Mary’s College.

More details on each round and other provincial events to follow shortly.
