Marshall Suffers Elbow Injury

Scrum half Paul Marshall has emerged as an injury doubt for Ulster ahead of next week’s Heineken Cup semi-final showdown with Edinburgh. He has an elbow injury and will miss his side’s interprovincial derby against Leinster on Friday night.

A statement issued today by Ulster Rugby confirmed: “An ultrasound scan has revealed that Ulster scrum half Paul Marshall has sustained some tendon damage to his right elbow.

“Paul was injured in the act of scoring a try for Ulster during last Saturday’s RaboDirect PRO12 match against Connacht at the Sportsground in Galway.

“It is hoped that Paul could be available for Ulster’s Heineken Cup semi-final against Edinburgh on April 28. However, at this stage, it is a case of ‘wait and see’, with treatment and reassessment ongoing.”
