Wallace Called In As Cover

The Ireland management have confirmed that they have called Ulster’s Paddy Wallace into the Ireland squad as cover for Jonathan Sexton.

Jonathan Sexton felt a tweak in his thigh muscle following this afternoon’s place-kicking session and after he was examined by the medical staff, it was decided to bring cover into the squad.

Paddy Wallace was due to play for Ulster this evening in the RaboDirect PRO12 against the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Sexton has not been ruled out of the game against France and the medical team will monitor him over the next 24 hours before any decisions are made regarding his ability to play in the Six Nations clash.
