The road to London and the Heineken Cup final became clearer for eight sides on Sunday after the quarter-final fixtures were confirmed and the draw made for the semi-finals.

The 2011/12 Heineken Cup quarter-final rankings are confirmed as:

1. MUNSTER
2. LEINSTER
3. Edinburgh
4. Saracens
5. Clermont Auvergne
6. Toulouse
7. Cardiff Blues (Best pool runners-up)
8. ULSTER (Second best pool runners-up)

The quarter-final matches, to be played over the weekend of April 6-8, will be:

(1) MUNSTER v ULSTER (8)
(2) LEINSTER v Cardiff Blues (7)
(3) Edinburgh v Toulouse (6)
(4) Saracens v Clermont Auvergne (5)

HEINEKEN CUP SEMI-FINALS:

– To be played over April 28-29

The winners of the first named quarter-final in each semi-final pairing will have home country advantage.

Semi-final 1: Saracens or Clermont Auvergne v LEINSTER or Cardiff Blues
Semi-final 2: MUNSTER or ULSTER v Edinburgh or Toulouse
