Ronan Sidelined For Munster’s Final Pool Match

Flanker Niall Ronan will miss Munster’s final Heineken Cup pool fixture against Northampton Saints, having sustained a knee injury in the first half of last Saturday’s win over Castres Olympique.

Niall Ronan had a scan today that showed he has sustained ligament damage to his left knee. He will undergo further examination before the full extent of the injury can be ascertained.

He becomes the third number 7 to end up on the province’s injury list this season, but there was good news for hooker Mike Sherry who is expected to see action in either the Ulster Bank League or British & Irish Cup this weekend.

Munster ‘A’ take on the Ulster Ravens in an eagerly-awaited British & Irish Cup quarter-final tie at Ravenhill on Friday (kick-off 7.30pm).
