Cork Con Announce New Age Grade Sponsor At RWC Big Breakfast

Last Saturday morning was a big day in Cork Constitution. Like so many clubs they were packed out early to cheer on Ireland in the Rugby World Cup with a Big Breakfast. The club also used the day to mark the start of their underage season with the announcement of a new sponsor.

Cork Constitution alumni Ronan O’Gara and Donncha O’Callaghan would have been delighted to see the next generation of players packing out Temple Hill last Saturday morning to cheer them on.

Cork Con club President Brian Humphries was delighted to announce the three-year sponsorship with Euromedic Ireland and Cork.

“The atmosphere was amazing,” reported club spokesman Tony O’Connor from the CCFC Communications Group.

“There wasn’t space to be got by kick-off in the club and the four TVs in the President’s Room, main bar and club hall were the centre of attraction for all who turned up. It was a sea of Con jerseys, Ireland jerseys and the odd Aussie jersey.

“Euromedic provided T-shirts for the underage players prior to kick-off and everyone was set for what was one of the greatest nights (mornings) in Irish rugby.

“Naturally there was a huge roar for the Cork Con lads in green and the atmosphere was amazing. The euphoria that followed the final whistle is something that will be remembered for a long time in the club.”

After the match all the underage grades took to the three pitches at Temple Hill to emulate Ronan and Donncha and continue the journey of some day following in their footsteps.

Aoife O’Donnell of Euromedic stated: “Euromedic are delighted to be part of Cork Con and are proud sponsors of the club’s underage rugby.

“It promises to be a positive relationship for both Euromedic and Cork Con underage and we look forward to developing the association with Temple Hill.”
