Connacht Clan On The March

This Saturday Connacht will play their first home match of the new RaboDirect PRO12 season when they welcome the Scarlets to the Sportsground.

It will be a game of great importance not only for the team but also for the province’s newly-established Supporters Club, the Connacht Clan.

The club was founded during the summer and a committee elected at the first AGM back in July.

With every Season Ticket holder automatically getting membership the Connacht Clan already has a membership of 3,000 and it is growing week on week.

Membership for non-Season Ticket holders is just €;20 and includes a free pin badge and a free ticket to a non-interprovincial RaboDirect PRO12 game of your choice.

The Connacht Clan will mark their foundation this Saturday with a march from Eyre Square to the Sportsground.

Starting at 1.30pm, there will be face painting, kids entertainment and the iRadio iTeam in Eyre Square before the Connacht mascot ‘Eddie the Eagle’ leads the march up to the ground to claim the Clan Terrace, the new covered stand at the Sportsground.

This stand will be the focal point for the Connacht Clan within the ground and will feature the new Connacht Clan Bar where Season Ticket holders will be able to avail of their free pint.

After Connacht’s encouraging win in the 34 degree heat of Treviso last Saturday, a large crowd is expected at the Sportsground for the game and Connacht Rugby would urge all fans to join the Connacht Clan march.

More information can be found on www.connachtclan.com, with match tickets available from www.ticketmaster.ie and www.connachtrugby.ie.
