St. Mary’s Women To Host Open Evening

St. Mary’s are one of the leading clubs in the Women’s All-Ireland League. They are always eager to recruit new players for their youth and senior sides. Rugby is a great social sport, you are guaranteed to have fun, get fit and make great friends.

Any new prospective players should head along to the St. Mary’s Women’s Rugby Open Evening at the club’s Templeville Road ground on Thursday (7pm).

All females over the age of 18 are invited to attend. A fun-filled night is promised with a tour of the facilities, non-contact games and skills sessions and some food and drink afterwards.

Please wear any kind of gym or training gear and runners or boots, and also bring some wet gear in case it rains.

There are female showers plus changing rooms at St. Mary’s College RFC. Directions to the club are available here.

Rugby is ideal for someone who wants to take up a new sport. There is a position for everyone irrespective of size, shape, age, experience and fitness levels. There will be complete coaching given to all players and safety is always the club’s first consideration.

Most women that join have never played rugby before and many take up the sport in their late 20s/early 30s, so there really is no excuse not to give it a go!

St. Mary’s also have a youth team for girls aged between 12 and 18. You can get in touch with the club if you or a friend or a family member might like to try it out.
