UL Bohemians Take Munster Club Sevens Title

UL Bohemians have been crowned the first ever IRFU Club Sevens champions in Munster, having beaten their Limerick neighbours Garryowen in the final in Cork IT on Saturday afternoon.

UL Bohemians ran out 29-7 winners over Garryowen in the final of Munster Club Sevens Championship and have booked their place in the All-Ireland finals, along with Garryowen, in two weeks’ time.

Waiting for them in those finals will be the newly-crowned Ulster Club Sevens champions Queen’s University and runners-up City of Derry.

The Leinster and Connacht representatives in the All-Ireland finals will be decided next weekend.

UL Bohs beat the Bateman All-Ireland Cup winners Bruff in the first semi final. Garryowen saw off the challenge of Dolphin in the other semi to make it an all-Limerick affair in the deciding match at Cork IT.

In the plate final, west Cork side Clonakilty (pictured below) brought their season to a close on a high note by defeating Limerick club Thomond 24-10.

A full breakdown of all the matches will follow…
