Tickets On Sale For Junior World Championship

The 2011 IRB Junior World Championship in Italy is now just 50 days away. Mike Ruddock’s Ireland Under-20s will soon be taking on England, South Africa and Scotland in the pool stages.

Last year’s IRB Junior Championship in Argentina set the standard for the tournament with record attendance and broadcast figures.

The International Rugby Board and the Federazione Italiana Rugby (FIR) are confident that the 2011 Championship will deliver a platform for rugby’s growth across Italy.

Tickets to the tournament are available to purchase now. Prices start at just €;5 and the IRB and FIR have announced details of a ticketing programme aimed at introducing more people to the sport.

The future stars of rugby will compete in the world’s premier age grade tournament in the cities of Padova, Treviso and Rovigo from June 10 to 26 with fans able to access a ticketing programme centred on venue passes for each host venue.

Tickets for Ireland’s matches can be bought through www.listicket.it and www.ticketone.it. Further information can be found at the official tournament website.

With exciting double header fixtures scheduled at each ground on the five matchdays, venue passes will give fans an opportunity to attend 10 high-level international matches at a cost of between €;20 and €;80, including the Junior World Championship final on June 26.

Individual tickets will allow the holder to attend both matches on their chosen day in the same venue and will be priced between €;5 and €;25.

IRB Chairman Bernard Lapasset said: “Rugby is growing all around the world and the IRB Junior World Championship plays a central role in interacting with rugby communities, schools and new fans.

“Through an attractive and affordable ticketing policy we hope that the 2011 tournament will reach out and attract more men, women and children to the Italian rugby family.

“I am sure that it will be an exceptional, well-attended tournament. Planning and preparation is on track, the venues are superb, the facilities first class and the enthusiasm is certainly palpable throughout the Veneto region.

“I have no doubt that this tournament will be a wonderful event for all who attend,” he added.
