O’Connell Has Injury Reassessed

Team captain Paul O’Connell could yet play a part in the remainder of Munster’s season following further tests on his injured ankle.

Paul O’Connell had his injury reassessed in Dublin on Wednesday evening and the encouraging news is that he could be back in training in four weeks’ time.

That would mean that if Munster were to progress to either the Amlin Challenge Cup final or Magners League final, O’Connell could be involved.

The Amlin Challenge Cup decider is due to take place in Cardiff on Friday, May 20, with Conor O’Shea’s Harlequins meeting Munster at the semi-final stage later this month.

Munster have already qualified for the play-offs of the Magners League, and a win over the Scarlets this Saturday would secure home advantage for them.

The Magners League final has been pencilled in for Saturday, May 28.
