O’Connell Suffers ‘Ligament Damage’

Further medical examination earlier today revealed that Paul O’Connell suffered ‘some ligament damage’ to his ankle in Munster’s Magners League victory over Leinster at Thomond Park.

The full extent of Paul O’Connell’s injury is not yet known and the Munster captain will need to be reassessed in ten days’ time before it can be determined how long he will be sidelined for.

A statement from Munster Rugby confirmed: “Paul had an X-ray in Limerick Regional Hospital on Saturday evening that established he had not suffered a fracture.
