Reddan Passed Fit To Play

Scrum half Eoin Reddan will start for Ireland in Saturday’s much-anticipated RBS 6 Nations match against England, after recovering from the concussion he received in the Wales game.

Speaking after today’s Captain’s Run session at the Aviva Stadium, Ireland head coach Declan Kidney said: “Eoin (Reddan) is good, he saw specialist during the week and got the all clear

“It was a substantial knock when he got it but he has been good ever since. He has had no adverse reaction so he is good to go.”

Reddan received a concussion in the first minute of last weekend’s game against Wales and was replaced by Peter Stringer, but recovered well after the incident.

He was monitored by the Ireland medical team, who followed the IRB concussion ‘Return to Play’ protocols, and was seen by a neurologist to determine if he was fit to take his place in the starting line-up this weekend.
