Foley To Coach Munster Forwards

Munster Rugby have confirmed that Anthony Foley will take over as the province’s forwards coach at the end of the current season.

Anthony Foley will follow in the footsteps of Laurie Fisher, who is coming towards the end of his three-year term with Munster.

Foley has served as technical advisor and assistant coach (defence) since retiring from playing at the end of the 2007/08 season.

In addition, he was head coach of the Munster Under-20s and coached Munster through to the inaugural British & Irish Cup final.

Earlier this season, Foley, who was capped 201 times by Munster, was appointed forwards coach of the O2 Ireland Wolfhounds.

Announcing the new appointment, Munster Chief Executive Garrett Fitzgerald said: “Laurie’s experience has been hugely beneficial to Munster’s squad and management.

“It’s now time for Anthony to take on this responsibility and to impart his experience and great knowledge of the game to the Munster players. We wish him well in his new role that commences on July 1.”
