Hurley Suffers Knee Injury

Winger Denis Hurley injured his right knee early in the second half of Munster’s Magners League win over Aironi Rugby on Sunday.

Denis Hurley had to be replaced by Doug Howlett in the 45th minute, and there are fears the Meath man could miss a number of the province’s upcoming games.

Speaking after the 20-10 defeat of Aironi, Munster team manager Shaun Payne said: “Denis twisted his knee after one of their props fell across his leg and we had to take him straight off.

“We won’t know more until we get a scan done, but it does look relatively serious.”

Hurley will undergo further medical examination either this evening or tomorrow when the full extent of the injury will be known.

The winger has been ruled out of action for this week and will not be involved in Saturday’s game against the Newport Gwent Dragons.
