No Room For Complacency – Foley

Munster kick off the weekend action at Dooradoyle on Friday night when they tackle Esher RFC in British & Irish Cup Pool B (kick-off 7.30pm).

Munster remain in second place in Pool B of the British & Irish Cup after last weekend’s 15-14 victory away to Nottingham, and need to continue their winning ways if they hope to advance to the knockout stages as one of the top two teams.

Esher and Munster met in a friendly match last season at Molesey Road, winning 50-21, and Munster head coach Anthony Foley is only too aware of the challenge that is in store on Friday night.

“Last time we played at home in the British & Irish Cup we lost (to Llanelli), so there can be no room whatsoever for complacency,” he said.

“As an English Championship side with a strong pack, we’re in store for a tough physical battle (against Esher) and are looking forward to it.

“We played them last season so we have some knowledge of what they are capable of, and nothing has changed in that we still have to go out and win all our games.

“We hope that the local supporters will come out in numbers and look at some of the younger Munster players in action.”

Tickets are available to buy online for Friday night’s game by clicking here. Supporters will also be able to pay at the gate at Garryowen FC, and prices are as follows: €;10 for an adult, €;3 for a child and €;20 for a family Pack (two adults and two kids).

MUNSTER Squad (v Esher) – Backs (11): Duncan Williams, Cathal Sheridan, Conor Murray, Declan Cusack, Ivan Dineen, Tom Gleeson, Danny Barnes, Simon Zebo, Troy Smith, JJ Hanrahan, Sean Scanlon.

Forwards (13): David Kilcoyne, Peter Borlase, Stephen Archer, Duncan Casey, Sean Henry, David O’Callaghan, Dave Foley, AN Other, Billy Holland, Tommy O’Donnell, Brian O’Hara, Paddy Butler, Brian Hayes.
