RBS 6 Nations Tickets Sell Out In Record Time

Tickets for Ireland’s RBS 6 Nations matches against France and England went on sale to Supporters Club members this morning and sold out in under two minutes.

The Irish Supporters Club members’ Ticket Sale took place following the normal distribution of tickets to rugby clubs and the visiting unions.

Tickets ranged in price from €;32.50 up to €;90 in a various categories for both games. The sale also included a limited number of Parent & Child packages.

Members of the club have benefited from a number of sales in the past five years and while some were unsuccessful today, the club was delighted to be able to offer the opportunity.

Commenting on the speed of the sale, IRFU Commercial & Marketing Director Padraig Power said: “France and England will be very big games in the RBS 6 Nations this year, so it is no surprise that tickets have been snapped up so quickly.

“Our new pricing and seat stratification strategy has meant that we are able to offer real choice and real value to the branches, the clubs around the country and to our Supporters Club members.

“Going into the Rugby World Cup later this year these are really significant matches, each with its own unique atmosphere, and we are delighted that we will have full houses for the return of RBS 6 Nations rugby to the Aviva Stadium.”
