Nagle Added To Munster’s Cup Squad

Munster have nominated young lock Ian Nagle as an additional player to join their Heineken Cup squad, ahead of Saturday’s final Pool 3 encounter with London Irish at Thomond Park.

Tony McGahan’s men, who cannot qualify for the quarter-finals, wrap up their Heineken Cup campaign this weekend. Munster have submitted their additional player nomination to ERC, the tournament organisers, today.

Ian Nagle, who secured a development contract at the start of the season, is the player nominated.

The 22-year-old lock has come through the province’s Academy. He has made five appearances in the Magners League and put in a man-of-the-match performance against Australia last November.

Ian Dowling, who is suffering from an ongoing hip injury, has been submitted as the player to be de-registered.

Although their Heineken Cup challenge is at an end, a victory on Saturday could provide Munster with further European action this season via the Amlin Challange Cup.
