Connacht Game Gets Go-Ahead

Connacht’s Amlin Challenge Cup Pool 1 match against Harlequins tonight (kick-off 7pm) is set to go ahead.

Despite the cold snap that has descended on the country, the pitch at the Sportsground was deemed playable this morning after an inspection by the grounds committee.

Earlier in the week, Connacht Rugby took the precaution of spreading 80 bales of straw on the playing surface to protect it from the elements and the measures have proved successful.

The straw has been rebaled and lifted off the pitch and the game is going ahead as scheduled at 7pm tonight.

Tickets for the game are still available from www.ticketmaster.ie and from the Connacht Branch on College Road in Galway.
