St. Attracta’s Pupils Enjoy ‘Play Rugby’ Programme

St. Attracta’s National School in Meadowbrook, Dublin 16 recently finished their first six-week exposure to the IRFU’s ‘Play Rugby’ programme.

Sue MacDonagh, a fifth class teacher at St. Attracta’s, took on the task of introducing the ‘ Play Rugby’ programme to her class of both boys and girls.

In the first week, CCRO Robert McAlinden from De La Salle Palmerston introduced the class to the programme and also ran a sample session for the teacher.

He then returned in the sixth week to see how the class had got on, having been on hand during the six weeks if there was any difficulties.

There was a great improvement in the students’ rugby skills and game sense in that period and all credit must go to Sue for her hard work and excellent coaching skills.

For more information about the IRFU’s ‘Play Rugby’ programme in Dun Laoighre/Rathdown, please contact CCRO Robert McAlinden (tel: 0872278138) or CRO Stephen Gore (tel: 0866087943).
