Ashbourne Raise Funds Through Pedalathon

On the eve of the Ireland v Argentina match, Ashbourne RFC started a 24-hour Pedalathon in the Residents Hotel, Ashbourne, to raise funds for Special Olympics Ashbourne and Ashbourne RFC.

All members of the Ashbourne senior squad took part in the Pedalathon and cycled from Saturday evening at 6pm until Sunday at 6pm.

Sponsorship cards were distributed among the players and funds were also raised on the day through collections in the local pubs.

Special Olympics Ashbourne is the chosen charity of Ashbourne RFC and further events are planned to raise funds throughout the season.

The club are very proud of all their senior players who unselfishly gave their time to take part in this very worthwhile cause.

Sincere thanks to club sponsors, the Residents Hotel, who sponsored the refreshments during the event and also to Stephen O’Neill and John Gavin of Ashbourne RFC who were instrumental in organising the event and who supervised from start to finish.
