Ryan Cited After Samoa Match

Ireland’s Donnacha Ryan has been cited by the independent citing commissioner Jean Etienne Bernard of France for allegedly stamping on a Samoan player during last Saturday’s GUINNESS Series match at the Aviva Stadium.

A citing complaint has been made against Donnacha Ryan, who came on as a replacement lock during the second half of the 20-10 victory.

He has been cited for allegedly stamping on an opponent, contrary to law 10.4(b), during the match between Ireland and Samoa at the Aviva Stadium.

His hearing will take place in London tomorrow (Tuesday) before an independent Six Nations disciplinary committee of chairman Roger Morris (Wales), Simon Thomas (Wales) and Achille Reali (Italy).

Meanwhile, the disciplinary hearing for Samoan hooker Ti’i Paulo, who was cited for two alleged dangerous tackles during the Connacht v Samoa match at the Sportsground last Tuesday, will also be held in London tomorrow.

The hearing will be chaired by Simon Thomas and also includes Achille Reali and Roger Morris.

A statement will be issued once the outcomes of the hearings are known.
