Ulster Camps Dotted With Star Names

Ulster Camps Dotted With Star Names

Throughout the summer, local children in all four provinces have been able to meet some up-and-coming players and household names at the Rugby Summer Camps. Here is a flavour of what has been going on in Ulster.

Dozens of boys and girls aged 6-12 years attended the five day camps in Ballymena and Lisburn recently to learn new rugby skills under the supervision of qualified coaches.

They also had an opportunity to talk to Ulster stars Ian Humphreys and Niall O’Connor in Ballymena, and Thomas Anderson and Stephen Ferris in Lisburn about their lives as professional players and to get some top tips on the game.

Participants also received a Summer Camp kit bag with a T-shirt, a rugby ball and a voucher to an Ulster Magners League match.

The Ulster Rugby Summer Camps, sponsored by independent retail group Centra, are taking place at fourteen different province-wide locations this summer and will cater for almost 1,200 children.

There are still places available at a number of the remaining Summer Camps listed below:

Week 7: August 16-20, 2010 – Royal Belfast Academical Institution & Armagh RFC
Week 8: August 23-27, 2010 – Bangor RFC & Clogher Valley RFC
