Munster Off To La Manga

The Munster squad and management are flying out from Cork International Airport today for a week-long warm weather training camp in La Manga.

The 1400-acre resort is located near Murcia in southern Spain, in a region known as the Costa Cálida, or ‘warm coast’, thanks to its mild, year-round Mediterranean climate.

The 43-strong Munster squad plus Academy scrum half Conor Murray, coaches and fitness and medical staff will arrive there on Tuesday evening for a week of intense training, returning home on the Wednesday prior to their opening pre-season friendly against Leicester Tigers at Musgrave Park.

Monday saw the squad train at the University of Limerick – sharing that facility with Harlequins – although Munster’s international contingent were put through their paces in a separate session under the supervision of Ireland head coach Declan Kidney and defence coach Les Kiss.
