Leinster Are Wembley Bound

It has been confirmed that Leinster’s Heineken Cup Pool 2 fixture against Saracens on Saturday, October 16 (kick-off 5.45pm) will take place at Wembley Stadium.

The October Anglo-Irish derby could prove to be a key clash in Pool 2 of this season’s Heineken Cup.

Explaining the decision to move the match to the world famous London venue, Saracens Chairman Nigel Wray said: “Saracens at Wembley has quickly become synonymous with a great family day out, including great rugby and great entertainment for a great price at a great venue.

“We are delighted to take this outstanding match to Wembley, and we look forward to a fantastic occasion.”

Saracens successfully held four matches at Wembley last season, including a memorable one-point win over South Africa. All four games drew crowds in excess of 40,000.

Leinster will open their Heineken Cup campaign a week earlier – Saturday, October 9 – by hosting French side Racing Metro 92.

Tickets for the Saracens v Leinster game are currently available on the Ticketmaster UK website.

Leinster Season Ticket Holders will be advised of the arrangements for Leinster’s ticket allocation for this game in the coming weeks.
