Munster Plan Open Days For Fans

Munster fans will have a chance to see the province’s squad in pre-season training at a number of planned open sessions in Cashel, Tralee and Waterford this month. Cashel RFC host the first of the open days today.

Following on from the success of last season’s open training session in Clonakilty RFC, Munster Rugby have decided to continue training in different locations around the province during the pre-season preparations.

The upcoming weeks will see the squad hold a full training session, to include rugby and conditioning, in the following venues: Cashel RFC, Tralee RFC and Waterford (venue tbc).

Munster team manager Shaun Payne said: “I think it is a great opportunity for us to get out to different areas of Munster that we do not normally play or train in.

“Supporters in areas such as Cashel, Tralee and Waterford will have the opportunity to meet some of the players and also witness the way that we prepare for the season ahead.

“Apart from promoting the game in the provinces, it also provides variety to our training schedule which can be very tough on the body and mind, especially during this pre-season phase when we would push players far harder than normal.”

MUNSTER RUGBY TRAINING SCHEDULE:

Friday, July 9 – Morning session at 10.30am, afternoon session at 1.15pm, Cashel RFC
Friday, July 16 – Times tbc*, Tralee RFC
Friday, July 23 – Times and venue tbc*, Waterford

* More details will be posted on the Munster Rugby website once confirmed
