Butler Secures Munster Development Contract

Ahead of the upcoming IRB Junior World Championship in Argentina, Ireland Under-20 back rower Paddy Butler has joined Munster’s band of Development contracted players for next season.

Paddy Butler, who impressed at number 8 for Ireland throughout the course of their RBS U-20 6 Nations title-winning campaign, featured for Munster in the recent British & Irish Cup final against Cornish Pirates.

Next month, the Rockwell College graduate and Shannon clubman Butler will join Munster Academy players Simon Zebo, David O’Callaghan and Brian Hayes as Ireland compete in the IRB Junior World Championship.

The 19-year-old Butler and his team-mates begin the tournament on Saturday, June 5 with a crunch clash with France, the only team they lost to during the Six Nations.

The Pool B fixture will be televised live from Rosario (kick-off 2pm local time/6pm Irish time) on Setanta Sports Ireland.
