DLSP Honour Young And Old

The sold signs were out at Kirwan Park recently as a full house attended the annual De La Salle Palmerston end of season club dinner.

Amongst those in attendance in the packed function room was one of De La Salle Palmerston’s newest members this season, current Leinster and South African World Cup-winning prop CJ van der Linde.

On the night, CJ presented club ties to the ‘Salmo Under-12 team following their graduation from the mini to the youth section.

Honorary Life Membership was also bestowed on two DLSP stalwarts – Kevin Fitzpatrick, the current Senior Vice-President of the Leinster Branch and a club member for over 45 years, and David Hicks, the senior coach in the Mini/Youth section for over 25 years.

This is the highest honour the club can award any of its members and this year’s recipients received standing ovations, showing how respected they are within the club.

DLSP gave special thanks to Karl Burke and the organising committee for arranging such a great night.
