Lions Star To Launch Finn Valley RFC

Donegal’s newest Rugby Club, Finn Valley RFC, will officially open tonight (Wednesday, April 14) at 7pm in Balor Theatre, Ballybofey with former Lions, Ireland and Ulster legend and current Ulster forwards coach Jeremy Davidson on hand to cut the tape.

Jeremy Davidson, the former Ireland international and current assistant coach with Ulster, will be the special guest on the night as well as a number of other Ulster Rugby representatives.

Finn Valley began operating in September 2009, and following much hard work by volunteers, now hosts boys teams at Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12 levels. The club has also recently started playing girls rugby and has encouraging numbers.

Previously, local rugby talent in the Finn Valley area had to travel to Donegal Town or Letterkenny RFC but now they have their own dedicated team of coaches who have recently completed training through the Ulster Branch of the IRFU.

Still in the initial stages of development, members of Finn Valley RFC are very grateful for all the continued support from the local community.

For more information on Finn Valley RFC, please contact: Gerard Doherty, Chairperson: 0867355536, Jonathan Cowan, PRO: 086 0571749, or Damian McGlynn: 086 8042177.
