Foley’s Munster Claim Esher Scalp

Anthony Foley’s Munster side began their build-up to the British & Irish Cup semi-final with a facile 50-21 victory over English National League One champions Esher in London on Wednesday evening.

Munster led 26-11 at half-time thanks to tries from forward duo Eoghan Grace and Dave Sherry in the opening quarter, both converted by Aidan McNulty, and former senior squad member Mossie Lawlor added a brace of tries late in the half.

Paul Rowley, Mike Sherry, Dave Moloney and Cathal Sheridan added to Munster’s try count in the second half, with replacement Johnny Holland from UCC converting three of those scores.

Munster coaches Anthony Foley and Ian Costello will have been pleased with the run-out, as the countdown is now well and truly on to the Munster v Ulster Ravens semi-final clash which will take place over the weekend of April 23-25.
