Connacht Announce Extended Squad For Edinburgh Tie

Team captain John Muldoon is a doubt for Connacht’s Magners League clash with Edinburgh at the Sportsground on Friday (kick-off 6pm). The Portumna man is nursing a groin injury which kept him out of last weekend’s narrow loss to Leinster.

Connacht have named an extended squad for Friday evening’s Magners League encounter with Edinburgh.

The panel of players includes young centre Eoin Griffin who recently won the RBS Under-20 6 Nations title with the Ireland U-20s.

Four players have not been considered due to injury. They are back rowers George Naoupu and Ray Ofisa, winger Liam Bibo and centre Keith Matthews.

Four others are awaiting late fitness tests to determine their availability, namely team captain John Muldoon, Robbie Morris, Niva Ta’auso and Ronan Loughney.

CONNACHT Squad (v Edinburgh) – Backs (11): Fionn Carr, Gavin Duffy, Eoin Griffin, Ian Keatley, Frank Murphy, Troy Nathan, Miah Nikora, Conor O’Loughlin, Niva Ta’auso, Brian Tuohy, Aidan Wynne.

Forwards (14): Andrew Browne, Sean Cronin, Adrian Flavin, Jamie Hagan, Ronan Loughney, Mike McCarthy, Mike McComish, Robbie Morris, John Muldoon, Dave Nolan, Johnny O’Connor, Michael Swift, Bernie Upton, Brett Wilkinson.
