D’Arcy On Course To Face Scotland

Gordon D’Arcy trained fully on Thursday afternoon with the Ireland squad, ahead of this weekend’s game against Scotland at Croke Park in the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Gordon D’Arcy has to be taken off during the first half of last weekend’s win over Wales at Croke Park.

The centre received deep bruising above the left knee during the game. It has been monitored and treated by the Ireland medical team all week.

On Tuesday, he was named in an unchanged Irish team to face Scotland in the final game to take place at Croke Park.

D’Arcy will continue to be monitorted by the Irish medical staff to ensure there is no reaction to Thursday’s training session.

A final decision on his availability and fitness for the game will be made tomorrow (Friday) following the Captain’s Run session at Croke Park.

Head coach Declan Kidney confirmed, earlier in the week, that if D’Arcy fails to recover in time, Paddy Wallace will take over in the number 12 jersey.
