Ulster Choose Squad For Scarlets Game

Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has named a 27-man squad for the province’s Magners League encounter with the Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets on Friday (kick-off 7.05pm).

Commenting on his side’s crucial Magners League trip to Llanelli, Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin said: “We have to go to the Scarlets really positive about our own ability to win away from home.

“There can be no doubt that we have been improving our away performances, it is something that we talked about at the beginning of the season, but we have to go to Llanelli and be accurate with everything we do.

“It is going to be very, very tough, they have an experienced squad and we’ll have to be clinical with the chances we create and come away with the right result.”

Ulster currently sit in sixth place in the Magners league table on 25 points with Scarlets back in ninth on 17 points.

The Ulster backs division has been bolstered by the return of Andrew Trimble and Paddy Wallace, who are both back from the Irish senior campe, while and promising young back Nevin Spence has also included in the squad, having featured for the Ireland Under-20s in recent weeks.

The Ulster starting line-up and replacements will be confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
