Bud Light Tag Registrations Now Live

Tag rugby teams have begun organising their season all over the country as registrations went live online for Bud Light Tag, the IRFU’s Tag Rugby programme.

More than 1,000 teams are expected to play in Bud Light Tag leagues this summer meaning over 12,000 players from across all four provinces will be signed up for the on-field and off-field fun.

The proverbial ‘game of two halves’ when leagues hosted are mainly tailored for Mixed Social teams (teams made up of both men and women) but some do host Womens, Mens and Vets Leagues (Men over 33).

These leagues will be specially graded so all skill levels from the dab-hand ‘A’-grader to the Beginner will have teams to compete against.

Olly Hodges, IRFU Leisure Rugby Manager, said: “This summer will be our biggest season yet as more and more people get a taste for this non-contact form of rugby.

“Whether as a player or as a supporter, participants will enjoy a superb atmosphere. This also benefits our host rugby clubs during their off-season, bringing extra people through their gates to enjoy themselves or even take up membership of the club.”

A typical Bud Light Tag season for a team will continue for nine or ten weeks with one match per week starting in May.

Registration costs of a team ranges between €;400 and €;550 per team, depending on the host venue. This provides great value to all participants at only €;5 per week per player.

Registering a team also gives a player the chance to win VIP prizes to an Ireland home RBS Six Nations game at Croke Park.

These prizes will include match tickets and invites to the official post-match team reception in the stadium afterwards.

All information on registration, competition draws, Bud Light Tag venues and much more can be found by signing up to our mailing list via this website or by contacting the IRFU on tag@irishrugby.ie.
