Vote For The IRPA Try Of The Year

2008 saw Brian O’Driscoll’s summer Test try against Australia selected as the International Rugby Players’ Association Try of the Year. Can Ireland make it a two in-a-row? Both Jamie Heaslip and Rob Kearney have been shortlisted for the IRPA Try of the Year honour for 2009.

The International Rugby Board and the International Rugby Players’ Association have given rugby fans their chance to select the 2009 IRPA Try of the Year.

For the first time, the global rugby family is being asked to vote online for their favourite try from a shortlist of fantastic tries from the RBS 6 Nations, the Lions Test Series and Tri Nations and the June and November internationals.

15 tries have been shortlisted, including Jamie Heaslip’s superb score in Ireland’s opening RBS 6 Nations win over France last February and Rob Kearney’s terrific touchdown in the Lions’ second Test against South Africa in June.

You can view all 15 tries here.

Email votetry@irb.com with the number of your favourite try.

The online poll will stay open until December 31, 2009 and the winner will be announced in early January.

IRPA representatives selected the shortlist which comprises three June internationals, three November internationals, three British & Irish Lions Test Series, three Tri Nations and three RBS 6 Nations tries.
