Suttonians Set For Fat Turkey Walk

Suttonians are all set for a bumper post-Christmas charity walk – The Fat Turkey Walk – with rugby celebs Stan Wright, Mick Galwey and Ollie Campbell signed up to help raise money for the IRFU Charitable Trust and the promotion of rugby locally.

The fat turkey walk takes place on Monday, December 28. It is planned to be an annual event. People always want exercise after all the Christmas turkey and Suttonians RFC have the answer.

This walk is a fun walk with people putting on their own club jerseys and walking for the IRFU Charitable Trust for  seriously injured players and Suttonians to help them develop rugby in the community.

The walk is being supported by Leinster Rugby and the IRFU. A number of rugby legends and champions are supporting the event by asking you to take part – Leinster prop Stan Wright, Munster and Ireland legend Mick Galwey, the Connacht and Ireland-capped Ian Keatley and Lions and Ireland legend Ollie Campbell to name but a few.

The walk commences at 11am from Suttonians RFC which is opposite Sutton Dart Station, and the route goes around the hill down to the harbour and back down to Suttonians.

The walk is approx 11 kilometres, if you are less active you can start from the summit or from Findlaters at Howth Harbour.

Why not come along in your club jersey and walk the walk for this great cause! Full details are on www.thefatturkeywalk.com.
