Dubarry Park Hosts Aviva Rugby Festival

The first Aviva Rugby Festival took place at Dubarry Park in Athlone last Sunday and proved to be a great success.

The mini rugby festival brought together hundreds of kids from all over Ireland as part of the Aviva grassroots legacy with Irish Rugby through the Aviva Stadium.

Over four hundred children, their coaches and parents converged on the home of Buccaneers RFC, Dubarry Park in Athlone, to play games, receive coaching from accredited IRFU staff and enjoy the benefits of friendships through sport.

The day ran from 11am to 3pm and is the first of two Aviva Rugby Festivals this season. The second will take place in March at a venue soon to be announced.

Aviva are the naming rights sponsors of Aviva Stadium which is on target to open in 2010.. Aviva Rugby Festivals form part of the sponsorship of a series of grassroots initiatives.
