Munster Bolstered By Return Of Lions

The Munster squad for Sunday’s Magners League clash with the Newport Gwent Dragons in Cork includes, for the first time this season, 2009 Lions Paul O’Connell, Donncha O’Callaghan, Keith Earls and Ronan O’Gara.

In addition, there is the prospect that on Sunday Munster supporters may get their first glimpse in a red jersey of Springbok centre Jean de Villiers, who has also made the 25-man squad.

The two other players besides John Hayes who made the initial Lions tour line-up, David Wallace and Jerry Flannery, remain on the injured list.

As do Peter Stringer (calf strain) and Paul Warwick (foot ligament), while Doug Howlett gets a rest having played three games on the bounce.

MUNSTER Squad (v Newport Gwent Dragons): Backs (10) – Tomas O’Leary, Toby Morland, Ronan O’Gara, Jeremy Manning, Lifeimi Mafi, Jean de Villiers, Barry Murphy, Denis Hurley, Keith Earls, Felix Jones.

Forwards (15) – Marcus Horan, Julien Brugnaut, Tony Buckley, John Hayes, Denis Fogarty, Damien Varley, Mick O’Driscoll, Paul O’Connell, Donncha O’Callaghan, Donnacha Ryan, Alan Quinlan, Tommy O’Donnell, Denis Leamy, Nick Williams, James Coughlan.
