Galwegians Announce Under-21 Coaches

Galwegians RFC have announced a star-studded coaching team to take charge of the club’s Under-21 squad for the coming season.

Greg Payne steps up from the Galwegians Under-18s to head a team which includes Ireland international Gavin Duffy and Connacht stalwart Michael Swift.

Duffy, capped six times for Ireland, is in his second year coaching at this age grade, having come into the ‘Wegians Under-=20 set-up last season.

A native of Ballina, County Mayo, he has been an ever present in the Connacht side in recent years.

Swift, who originally joined Galwegians in 1998, is now Connacht’s longest serving current player with and will celebrate 10 years with the province this season.

Galwegians promoted no fewer than five Under-20 players into the AIB League during last season and believe that having quality coaching at that level has made such developments possible.
