Tuam RFC have launched their new online lotto fundraising initiative with www.locallotto.ie, which is a Galway-based company that enables clubs to raise money by playing their club lotto online.
Local lotteries and raffles are vital ways of funding local sports clubs – especially at a time when sponsorship is so hard to come by as the recession bites.
The locallotto.ie system enables clubs to hold and manage their lotteries online, and not just in the local pub.
It allows clubs who have never run a fundraising lotto because of the huge workload of a manual system manage it easily and efficently online – it only takes a club five minutes per week!
It also allows people who would not normally have the time, or be in the locality, to support their favourite teams via the internet.
Tuam RFC Assistant Secretary Olivia Wynne said: “We encourage all of our ex-members and community to play the Tuam RFC fundraising lotto.
“We also hope that we can all work together to promote this lotto and help get back in touch with people from Tuam, Galway, who may now be living all over the world.
“This new online lotto will be a big help in the fundraising efforts of Tuam RFC.”
