McLaughlin Targets Performance And Win

IrishRugby.ie was on hand at the Ulster squad announcement press conference at Newforge Country Club in Belfast on Tuesday to interview new coach Brian McLaughlin and players Darren Cave, Andrew Trimble and Bryn Cunningham.

We will be carrying the player interviews on the site over the next few days, in the lead up to Ulster’s opening Magners League fixture away to the Dragons on Sunday.

But we begin the build-up with a one-on-one with new head coach Brian McLaughlin, who has overseen pre-season victories over Newcastle Falcons, Viadana and Worcester Warriors.

Click here to listen to our interview with Brian. We get his thoughts on the progress made during pre-season, how he has settled into the job and how the mood in the Ulster camp is one of confidence after last week’s friendly win in Worcester.

Click here to listen to the new Ulster boss list off his first Magners League squad as the province prepare for their league opener against the Dragons. He also gives an injury update on Rory Best and David Pollock.

To hear the latest from the other provinces, you can also click on the Provincial section of Irish Rugby TV to listen to interviews with Munster’s Paul O’Connell and David Wallace, Connacht skipper John Muldoon and Leinster’s Girvan Dempsey.
