Buccs To Host Midland Sevens Tournament

Buccaneers RFC are inviting entries to their inaugural Midland Sevens tournament at Dubarry Park in Athlone on Saturday, August 15. Read on for further details.

The Midland Sevens tournament, set for Dubarry Park on Saturday, August 15, will have a minimum of eight mens teams from the Connacht and Midlands area participating.

Buccaneers, the host club, will also be running a womens competition on the same day.

This is a great opportunity for teams to play the Sevens game and test themselves against other clubs/teams of both senior and junior status.

At the start of the new season it is also the ideal time to build a good team spirit and a Sevens competition could be the perfect start as the ‘real’ season looms.

The participation fee is €;180 per team. More than one entry per club is welcome as are ‘invitational’ teams. Each squad consists of a maximum of 12 players.

The participation fee includes lunch for each player, a complimentary drink and free entry to the evening entertainment.

Food and drink will be available throughout the day at The Bounty restaurant and bar at Dubarry Park for mentors and supporters.

There will be cash prizes (value depending on the number of entries) for the winners and runners-up in the tournament.

Please confirm interest ASAP via e-mail: rugby@dubarrypark.com or by contacting Geraldine on 0861732711.

Closing date for applications and participation fees is Friday, July 31.
