New IRFU-Qualified Coaches Accredited In Donegal

Rugby coaching in Donegal received a massive boost during the month of June, with over 60 new coaches accredited at IRFU Foundation and Mini levels.

Both Foundation and Mini courses were held over two days at a central location in Letterkenny as part of the IRFU’s Donegal Community Rugby Project.

All five clubs in Donegal were represented along with club members from City of Derry, Ballyclare, Ballymoney and even Greystones in County Wicklow.

Many of the coaches were new to the game through their own children’s involvement at local clubs.

The courses have aimed to give the participants the basic knowledge needed to coach at Mini level, the 7-12 age groups and Foundation level, 13-16 years.

All involved with the Donegal Project wish the new coaches the best of luck for next season and hope to see them at the workshops being run in the coming weeks and months to further their development as rugby coaches.

Anyone wishing to attend the next Mini or Foundation courses held in Donegal is advised to send a request to info@donegalcommunityrugby.com.
