Log-Lifting And Yoga In Connacht’s Pre-Season Regime

The Connacht squad, including southern Hemisphere signings Miah Nikora and Bernie Upton, arrived back at the Sportsground last week to begin pre-season training ahead of the new Magners League season in September.

After a meeting on Monday morning outlining the pre-season campaign, which was put together by Connacht fitness advisors Kevin Cradock and Greg Muller, the Connacht players were put through some rigorous and varied exercises.

A conditioning programme has been put together with an emphasis on ‘strongman’ activity, which includes the use of tyres, logs and weights, as well as yoga, swimming and skills.

The six Connacht players involved in the Ireland ‘A’ side’s Churchill Cup success, including captain John Muldoon, will also return to training with the province shortly.
