O’Gara Supports WEEE Ireland’s Collection Drive

Grand Slam winner Ronan O’Gara teamed up today with WEEE Ireland, the Irish compliance scheme for electrial and battery recycling, to celebrate the collection of over 30,000 tonnes of waste electrical equipment (WEEE) in 2008.

The figure of 30,000 tonnes, announced at the launch of WEEE Ireland’s Annual Report, translates to over 9kg per person or 180,000 rugby players and sees Ireland topping the Six Nations’ electronic recycling table, leaving the UK, (England, Wales and Scotland 6kg), France (5kg) and Italy (3kg per person) points behind.

Joining Ronan O’Gara at Croke Park, the venue for the eagerly-awaited Leinster v Munster Heineken Cup semi-final on Saturday week, were Alison Kieran (11), Jack Donovan (9), James Kieran (10), Katie Donovan (8), Megan Leonard (4) and Jamie Leonard (10).
