Browne Signs Contract Extension

One of Connacht’s most promising young players has signed a contract extension with Andrew Browne agreeing terms for another season.

The 22-year-old Andrew Browne, who was part of the Ireland Under-20 side which won the Grand Slam two years ago, made his Connacht debut in a pre-season friendly away to Narbonne in the summer of 2006.

The Renmore native, whose brother Damien spent several seasons with Connacht and who is now with Brive in France, made his competitive debut in a 16-16 draw with Cardiff in the Sportsground in April 2007.

A versatile player who can play in the second row or at blindside flanker, Browne made his 22nd competitive appearance for Connacht in last Friday’s 32-5 loss away to Edinburgh.
