Ulster ‘A’ Team Announced For Munster Clash

Ulster ‘A’ coach Gary Longwell, has named his team and replacements ahead of Friday’s fixture against Munster ‘A’ at Shaw’s Bridge in Belfast (kick-off 2.30pm).

Experienced Ulster full-back Bryn Cunningham will captain the province’s ‘A’ side for the game against their Munster counterparts.

Phoenix Ulster Rugby Academy players Ian Whitten, Tommy Seymour and Willie Faloon have all been named in the starting line-up, while two more Academy members, Johnny Shiels and Paul Karayiannis, will start the match on the bench.

Back from World Cup Sevens duty with Ireland, Paul Marshall will provide cover for Cillian Willis at scrum half.

Speaking about Friday’s game, Ulster ‘A’ coach Gary Longwell said: “We have had a good run in the season so far, winning all of our games apart from our last meeting with Munster.

“Now we are on home soil, we will be looking for that all important victory. The team has a great mix of ability and experience and we plan to use the resources we have, tactically and skilfully, to achieve a convincing win over Munster tomorrow.”

Tickets for the game at Shaw’s Bridge are priced at £5 each, and will be available to purchase on the gates.

ULSTER ‘A’: Bryn Cunningham (capt); Timoci Nagusa, Mark McCrea, Ian Whitten, Tommy Seymour; Niall O’Connor, Cillian Willis; Bryan Young, Stuart Philpott, Daniel Roach, Chris Napier, Ryan Caldwell, Filo Paulo, Willie Faloon, Thomas Anderson.

Replacements: Nigel Brady, Paul Karayiannis, Ed O’Donoghue, David Pollock, Paul Marshall, Johnny Shiels, Isaac Boss.
