Colaiste Iognaid Celebrate Connacht Cup Success

Colaiste Iognaid retained the Connacht Tribune Schools Senior Cup title with a deserved 10-3 victory over Sligo Grammar School at the Sportsground on Wednesday.

The Galway city school captured their fourth title in five nine years and moved to outright third place in the roll of honour with nine Connacht crowns.

Two first half tries paved the way for success as the Jes built up a 10-0 interval lead.

Rory Cunningham broke the deadlock after 22 minutes and flanker Aaron Conneely also crossed just before the break.

Sligo Grammar fought back in the second half but a drop goal from Pat Hughes was all they managed as Colaiste Iognaid held on for victory.
