Williams and Brady Ready For Glasgow Encounter

Magners League rugby returns to Ravenhill on Saturday night as Ulster entertain Glasgow Warriors in what is a crucial, must-win game for Matt Williams’ side.

After losing away to the Dragons in the last round of the Magners League, Ulster currently sit four points and two places behind Saturday’s opponents Glasgow in the table.

Matt Williams’ charges will be looking to  gain some much-needed points against Glasgow, especially with only a further two home games left in their league campaign.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s tie, Williams said: “I was very unhappy with our last performance. We cannot talk our way out of it, or make excuses for how we played.

“I have told the players that the only thing we can do is act our way out of it on Saturday. We need a performance against Glasgow, and nothing but 100 percent will do.

“Our focus is to take back the points we lost against Dragons, and show what we are really capable of.

“This will be a week of solid match preparation. The players all know that they have to stand up and perform come Saturday, this is it.”

Hooker Nigel Brady, who started the Dragons game, is also eager for Ulster to return to winning ways.

“Glasgow is the crunch match for sure. It is a must-win game for us,” he said.

“It is slightly different not having the Internationals training with us at the minute, but it gives the rest of us a chance to work on skills and different set pieces. The attitude in camp is definitely a winning one ready to take on Glasgow.

“We all know that we have to really perform this Saturday, everyone is 100 percent focused on getting our game perfect ahead of the match, we understand that we need to go out there and get a win.”

Williams will name his extended squad on Wednesday and select his matchday 22 to take on the Warriors on Friday.

Ulster Rugby are running a special ticket promotion, ‘3, 2, 1, Glas-Go!’, for Saturday’s game. With the promotion, all tickets bought online will receive £1 discount per ticket.
