O’Connor And Duffy Sign New Connacht Deals

Connacht Rugby is pleased to announce that two of their most experienced players, Gavin Duffy and Johnny O’Connor, have signed long-term contract extensions.

Gavin Duffy and Johnny O’Connor, who came up through the ranks in the province to become full internationals, have both signed new three-year contracts.

It means that the 27-year-old Duffy and O’Connor (29) are committed to Connacht to the end of the 2012 season.

Galway native O’Connor returned to Connacht two years ago after four years with Wasps, while Ballina man Duffy returned to the province after a similarly successful stint with Harlequins.

Connacht manager Tim Allnutt said that the decision by both players to commit to the province for the next three seasons was a big boost.

“They are a big influence on and off the park and it is great that they have committed to Connacht for the next three seasons,” he said.
